DAY SIX:

Childhood Memory

( i was 12 in Children's Hospital having my knee surgery and my 'then' dance teacher, Lynn, (yes, courtney's lynn! ) came by every day to visit me!!!  now, i go to visit and spoil her...she has been a huge part of my childhood...and adulthood!!

DAY SEVEN:

Something New

( i made this new notebook for courtney's dance lessons...which she goes BACK TO tonight!! )

...and yesterday...

i was offered by my good friend Tracy to be shown how to make homemade pickles a while ago, and yesterday was the pickle making factory at her house!!!

( 20lbs of dills!!! )

THANK YOU soooooo much Tracy for sharing your Mom's ( Baba's secret recipe with me and my family...I can't wait to snack on my labour of love!!!  heeheehee! )

AND...

this morning...

the boy was BACK TO school - Grade 4!

AND...

this afternoon...

the girl was BACK TO school - Grade 8!

AND...

heading off for my weekly wednesday visit with Lynn and then

tonight is BACK TO dance lessons for courtney...( i think there is gonna be some sore muscles in the morning! )

...back from the cabin again and back to cleaning and laundry!  FUN!

...first, i will share an update with how my fun little 30 Day Photo Challenge in going...

starting with a bit of an addition to my mini i made for all my photos for this project.

i was totally inspired by the very talented Marcy Penner http://www.marcypenner.com/

with the basics of my own mini but added some of my own touches to my liking...i also made my album 5 x 7 in size and bound the insides with waxed cording through hole punches i made with a cropadile!!

...you can't really tell by the photo, but I also embossed the camera stamp as well...

...so here's the SIMPLICITY of which i am keeping this project...

this way, i KNOW i will complete it!!

hahahaha!!!!

...i have been usuing my Canon Selphy to print the photos off with a white border in the comforts of my own home and this TOTALLY helps with the upkeep of this project!

...and here's the plain ol' photos...

Day 3:  CLOUDS

( we were at the lake and there were thunderstorms forecasted all day, but barely got a drop of rain! )

Day 4:  FAVORITE COLOR

( ...anybody who knows me well, knows that would be PINK! )

...and here's a bit of our fun at the lake this weekend...

WAY TOO COLD for swimming now, but walks and photography are always fun!

...we were joined by our friends Nikki, John and their daughter Taylor saturday til sunday and we sure had a GOOD time saturday night....wink wink....

...started off with some Wii guitar hero...

...man, we had a good time...

( especially with our karaoke crashing new lake friends!!! - GAH!!!! ...good times...good times...)

i can't believe the summer is over, fall is arriving and the kids go back to school in 2 days.

...final summer catch up and Day 2...

...i spent my evening last night FINALLY putting Curt and Erith's wedding album together!!

i am so pleased with how they all turned out and am looking very forward to seeing their reactions today when they get their photos!!  ( i used this shimmer yellow ribbon because it was one of their wedding colors )

-a fun day of jetskiing and an evening boat ride in tracy and roberts new toy...

we rode out on cook's creek and onto the red river in selkirk!

(remember the old river boat the Lord Selkirk? i was quite upset to see many of my teenage happy memories beached in the slew of Selkirk...rotting away, being vandalized.  what a sad waste.

mike's parents, Liz and Ken, FINALLY made it out to the cabin for a day/lunch visit with us!

(thanks again for the yummy corn-on-the-cob!!)

...and after supper, the four of us went out on the boat for a ride and some fishing...

we celebrated my mom's birthday with a bbq and cheesecake!

YUMM-O!!!!

***this is also 4 days post cataract surgery for my mom too ( left eye )...she's doing great and may only need to pull out reading glasses as needed when the other eye is done too***

...mike, mon and i happily and FINALLY moved my Grandpa to River East Personal Care Home...

this has been a year and a half wait to get in...and we all just love the new change...my Grandma would have loved it here.  now he is just down the street from us - sooooo much closer!

...we FINALLY got my mom to come out with us to the cabin for her first time this year!!

( 'us' being Oliver too...he loves it at the cabin! )

HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY TO COURTNEY!!!

...not so sure how this happened so fast, but I am officially the mother of a teenager!!

GAH!

...we had a fun day, starting with a little boat ride around the lake for my mom...

...the kids and i baked Rainbow Cupcakes for courtney's 'cake' today!!!

...and courtney loves to ice / decorate cupcakes, so have at 'er kid...

...nikki, taylor and the kids & i went for a picnic beach day at Patricia Beach!!

...we always finish our P.B. days off with a stop at Sandy's chipstand for an ice cream cone!!!
