...as promised....

My December Daily.

What is a December Daily?

It is a photo / journal documentation of the month - mostly to capture our daily preparations and happenings for the month leading up to Christmas, and including New Years!!

I purchased a 'bare bones' kit from the kind and talented Marcy Penner at My Scrap Shoppe in Winkler, Mb.  And I've been adding mist splashes, stickers, buttons, and all kinds of other goodies from my own stash as I'm going along!!!

How did I find any extra time to work on this project??
HA.
I guess I will sleep when I'm dead!!!

So....here's some photos from Day 1 to Day 9.

...it's beginning to feel...

A Lot Like Christmas!!!

we finally finished decorating our christmas tree the other night, and once it's up, i know i always get this official happy feeling of the spirit and the magic of christmas!

...although i did have a myself a little tearful moment afterwards in thoughts that this will be our first christmas without my grandma.  she loved christmastime so much.  i miss her everyday.

...and the other day i also snapped a picture of ( one of ) our christmas countdowns!
i made this about 6 years ago with courtney ( and also one with her friend rachel ) and we use it every year!
oh, the fun things you can make with a clipboard!!

...this past friday was my christmas hall crop for my scrapbookers...
we had lots of happy fun together and there sure were A LOT of cards being made that night!!

...and today i was honored to be asked again by my friend maria to come to her home and take some family pictures...with their newest addition to their family, 3 week old Tayah!
last year the little one on the left was only a few months old!
i love being asked to take their family photos each year because I love seeing their precious little family growing and changing...they are the sweetest little family!!
thank you grant's for a special afternoon with you!
(here's just a few little peeks )
:)

( those of you who know me well, KNOW i have a total baby feet fettish...LOVE!!! )

...be back soon with some December Daily mini album pics...

quick catchup....

...i can't believe it's been 13 days since i posted last...
it's a busy season and time sure escapes us all i guess!

so, do you remember in one of my recent posts, i shared my photos from a very special little tea party i had and at the end of the post i encouraged you all to tell someone today that you love them ( but that you didn't HAVE to have a tea party to do so, but it sure was a fun way of doing it??)

well, my sweet friend Syrella chose to pay it forward and host her own little tea party last weekend in her home!
she had a hanful of her closest friends ( lucky me for the invite! ) and made up a lovely luncheon for us all///
soup, salad, sandwiches and the most delicious little cakes from Goodies bakery!
(and of course there was TEA! )

...perfect, happy little afternoon...
thankyou Syrelli

...hmmm...also last week, tyler finished his second set of piano books and passed Level 1 and got his little certificate from his teacher!  ( he completed Level 1A last year )...so now he's excited to have some new, more challenging books in Level 2 to work with!

...this past weekend is ALWAYS a crazy busy and fun weekend for our family!
on saturday, courtney danced with her dance school at the Manitoba Highland Dancer's Association Tartan Tea, held annually at the St.James Civic Centre...this is the biggest fundraiser that MHDA holds every year so it is always just incredibly chaotic with all the other winnipeg schools there and all their families...
so, we tend to just come, dance, and scram at this concert because it is so hectic!!

( our girls backstage, on deck, before our show - except those two girls in the blue dresses?  HAHA! )

...Courtney dances with Susan French School of Highland Dance...
( in case any of my friends with little ones -girls OR boys - are thinkin,.....)

...and the last group finale of the show...
:)

...sunday, yesterday, brought us to our favorite show of the year....
our own dance school concert, held at the Manitoba Deaf Centre Theatre...
( like the programs?  giggle...)

...this year i was asked to M.C the show, so i didn't get to take any photos of the dancing...BUT was having a ton of fun backstage with the girls getting photos there!!!
( sorry, i can't post many because i haven't asked permission for the other girls...)
Mike was videotaping the show, so i can PAUSE and shoot some stills from that later!!!

...concert videographer / Mr.Claus extraordinaire....
heeheehee - wink!

...courtney and susan and a visit with Santa...

...and had to get some shots of some of our guests at the show to support and see Miss Courtney dance...

...a huge congratulations and big hugs to susan french on her first concert presentation!
from your thoughtful and fun choreography to suit the girls' personalities, to the planned out costumes and accessories, to the music selections, to organizing all the details and pulling it all together....
you did an amazing job, and it was nice to see you SMILING  and LAUGHING at all the lessons and rehersals with the girls, no matter how stressful times may have been! you are a wonderful and loving teacher to the girls and their love for you in return shows in how close a dance family we have really all become over time.  you have many, many, MANY people who are very proud of this accomplishment for you...well done!

...OK...
i have GOT to get going now...
i've got the kids' journals
and my new december daily to catch up from the weekend...

...we are puttin' up our christmas tree tonight...finally!
how about you?
